The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides healthy food, nutrition education, and referrals to healthcare for millions of low-income families. If you are pregnant, postpartum, or have young children, you may qualify.
What WIC Provides
WIC is not just a food program — it is a comprehensive nutrition and health support system. Benefits include:
- Monthly food packages tailored to your nutritional needs (milk, eggs, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, baby food/formula)
- Nutrition education and counseling
- Breastfeeding support and supplies
- Referrals to healthcare, immunizations, and other community services
Who Qualifies?
- Pregnant women
- Women who recently gave birth (up to 6 months postpartum, or 12 months if breastfeeding)
- Infants up to their first birthday
- Children up to age 5
- Household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level
Already on Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF? You automatically meet WIC’s income requirement. Apply directly — you do not need to provide additional income documentation.
